Established in 1900, FLTC is a not-for-profit members club located in a beautiful rural setting on the outskirts of Upnor. It is affiliated to the Medway Lawn Tennis Association (MLTA) and national Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
Play is year round. Our membership is made up of players of all ages and abilities, and we are always keen to welcome new members.

Club play Drop-in sessions for members of all levels. Wednesdays from 2 May 2018.
Visitors Non-members are welcome to come to club play sessions to try out our facilities. We are always keen to see newcomers. Visitors must sign the Vistors’ Book and there is a fee of £3 per visit (maximum of three visits).
Coaching The club offers a full coaching programme. Fully qualified coaches offer individual and group sessions for all ages. Those new to tennis or starting playing again after a long break will benefit from joining the coaching squad for beginners.
Touchtennis with music, Thursdays, 7–8, £5 per session A fun game that focuses on deft stroke-play and chess-like manoeuvres. Played on a reduced size court with foam balls and 21 inch kids’ rackets. The rules of the game aim to level the playing field for competitors by fostering long, intense rallies and clever angle play.
Cardiotennis, Sundays, 10–11 am, £5 per session A high energy group activity that combines working on tennis skills with cardiovascular exercise. Most women can burn 300–500 calories per hour and men burn between 500 and 1000.
Teams and competitions
• Medway League – grass courts, summer season: teams of two doubles pairs (men and/or women) played on weekday evenings.
• Kent League – hard/grass courts, winter/summer seasons: mens, ladies and mixed doubles teams.
• Club summer and winter tournaments: mens and ladies singles and doubles, and mixed doubles
Wimbledon tickets As an affiliate of the the LTA, the club receives an allocation of tickets for the Wimbledon Championships. Members can enter a draw for a chance of being allocated a pair of tickets. You must be a British Tennis member and have opted in to the general Wimbledon ballot to qualify for entry in the draw.
