About Frindsbury Lawn Tennis Club

Established in 1900, FLTC is a not-for-profit members club located in a beautiful rural setting on the outskirts of Upnor. It is affiliated to the Medway Lawn Tennis Association (MLTA) and national Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Play is year round. Our membership is made up of players of all ages and abilities, and we are always keen to welcome new members.

Facilities
  Six all-weather courts with floodlights
  Three grass courts
  Two mini courts
Clubhouse with changing rooms, showers, full kitchen, lounge area and Wi-Fi
  Ample parking

Club play   Drop-in sessions for members of all levels. Wednesdays from 2 May 2018.

Visitors  Non-members are welcome to come to club play sessions to try out our facilities. We are always keen to see newcomers. Visitors must sign the Vistors’ Book and there is a fee of 3 per visit (maximum of three visits).

Coaching   The club offers a full coaching programme. Fully qualified coaches offer individual and group sessions for all ages. Those new to tennis or starting playing again after a long break will benefit from joining the coaching squad for beginners.

Touchtennis with music, Thursdays, 7–8, 5 per session   A fun game that focuses on deft stroke-play and chess-like manoeuvres. Played on a reduced size court with foam balls and 21 inch kids’ rackets. The rules of the game aim to level the playing field for competitors by fostering long, intense rallies and clever angle play.

Cardiotennis, Sundays, 10–11 am, 5 per session   A high energy group activity that combines working on tennis skills with cardiovascular exercise. Most women can burn 300–500 calories per hour and men burn between 500 and 1000.

Teams and competitions

Medway League – grass courts, summer season: teams of two doubles pairs (men and/or women) played on weekday evenings.
Kent League – hard/grass courts, winter/summer seasons: mens, ladies and mixed doubles teams.
